Talk Therapy

With adults and youth (approximately 12+ years old), the interventions generally occur verbally. I provide talk therapy to youth, young adults and parents. I work with clients to understand their concerns, develop treatment goals, discuss therapeutic approaches to address these concerns and check in regularly on treatment progress. I work collaboratively with clients to find the treatment approach that is best for them.

There's a comfortable space available for traditional talk therapy, which is often used with youth, adults, families, and couples.

With children and youth, however, their verbal, cognitive, and abstract reasoning skills are less developed and so interventions tend to occur through therapeutic play (called play therapy).
