She works towards empowering clients so they can create positive change and a future with possibilities for themselves.

She acknowledges every client is unique and she integrates a variety of modalities to best fit the client’s needs. She uses Solution-Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Feminist Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Mindfulness, and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing).

She has a B.A. Honours in Psychology and a M.Ed. in Counselling from the University of Ottawa. She is registered with the College of Registered Psychotherapist in Ontario (#3606), and she is a Canadian Certified Counsellor with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (#2479).

Ana continuously works towards improving herself professionally and she often engages in further education. For example, she has extensive training in Narrative Therapy and Solution-Focused Therapy. She has recently finished the level 2 training in EMDR and is currently in the process of becoming a member with EMDR International Association.

Prior to venturing into private practice, she worked for 8 years in the mental health field for a few non-profit community organizations, providing services to individuals struggling with severe and persistent mental illnesses, addictions, and sexual trauma. Currently, she shares her time between her private practice and a family services organization.

She provides services in English and Portuguese.

Sessions are 60 minute in length. Clients may request a 90 minute session when engaging in EMDR therapy.

Fees for services are $140 for a 60 minute session, and $180 for a 90 minute session. Ana accepts cheque, cash, or etransfers.  At the end of each session, you are given a receipt which you can send to your third party insurance. Services are covered by most third party insurance as Ana practices under the supervision of a Registered Psychologist.

Fees may be lowered for those with limited financial resources.
